Walk in interview for the recruitment of Lab technicians, Field officer, Administrative Assistant and Research Assistant under Contractual basis

Applications in the prescribed form are invited from Indian nationals for direct recruitment on contractual basis for filling up the Lab Technicians, Field Officer, Administrative Assistant and Research Assistant in various projects at Multidisciplinary Research Unit, Madras Medical College, Chennai - 600003.

1. Lab technicians:

(i) Essential Qualifications:

12th pass in Science Subjects and 2 years diploma (DMLT or PMW or required subject) or 12th in Science Subjects with one year DMLT and one year required experience in a recognized organization as a Lab Technician or two years field/ laboratory experience* or Animal House Keeping in Govt. recognized Orgn.

(ii) Desirable Qualifications:

B.Sc. DMLT Degree with experience molecular lab work, *B.Sc degree shall be treated as 3 years’ experience

2. Research Assistant:

(i) Essential Qualifications:


First class Master’s Degree in relevant life science subjects or equivalent degree from a recognized University with R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after Ist class Master’s Degree; or

 Post graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) with R&D/teaching experience or postgraduate diploma in
medical subjects with R&D /teaching experience in the required subject from recognized
university; or

MBBS recognized by MCI from any institute recognized by MCI or equivalent degree from a
recognized University with R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after MBBS
degree; or

BDS/B.V.Sc&AH degree recognized by DCI/VCI with R&D/Teaching experience in the
relevant subject after BDS/B.V.Sc degree; or

Second Class M.Sc, + 2 years R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after M.Sc.

(ii) Desirable Qualifications:
(a) Post graduate degree in life sciences with research experience in molecular techniques RTPCR,
Genotyping.
(b) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Data Management.

3. Field Officer:

(i) Essential Qualifications:
MSc/MSW/BDS/MBBS/Graduate from science or social sciences with research experience/
exposure.

(ii) Desirable Qualifications:
a) Knowledge on health systems.
b) Experience of conducting household/facility based surveys.
c) Knowledge/capable of conducting interviews with different personnel in hospitals.

4. Administrative Assistant:

(i) Essential Qualifications:

1. 12th pass or equivalent from a recognized board with administrative work experience or
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with administrative work experience.
2. A computer typing speed of 10500 key depressions per hour in English

(ii) Desirable Qualifications:
a) Knowledge on health systems.
b) Experience of conducting household/facility based surveys.
c) Knowledge/capable of conducting interviews with different personnel in hospitals.

Mode of Selection:
Selection will be purely based on the merit basis as per the DHR Guidelines.

5 set of application in the prescribed form should be submitted on the interview date along with
the self attested copies of certificates.

Salary and other Service Conditions:
For all the mentioned posts monthly-consolidated pay will be given as per the DHR guidelines.

the period of 1 year and may be extended further as per the DHR guidelines. All the employees
are not provided with any pension benefits or other allowances. The guidelines of DHR will be
